Building Layout
 |
Once you have arrived at First Presbyterian Church, it is very easy to find the Sanctuary - it is in the large building that faces West Jefferson Avenue and has a steeple. There are white columns in the front and large doors. There is some parking right on West Jefferson Avenue, as well as in the parking lot to the east of this entrance. If you enter through the front of this building, you walk through the Narthex and straight into our church Sanctuary.
The view looking west from the corner of North Ellis Avenue and West Jefferson Avenue at the top of the page shows our sign at the corner, the main entrance to the Sanctuary, and our Rotunda entrances through either of the doors at the northwest corner of the parking lot. You can enter the Sanctuary directly from the Rotunda as well as from the main entrance. Greeters and ushers are available at both entrances to welcome you to worship services and will help you find directions to all locations in the building.

We also have floor plans posted in several areas of our church facility as well as here on our website.
Also available on this website are directions and a map to the church, parking and accessibility information, our building use policy for anyone wishing to request the use of space in our church, facility scheduling and event planning for church activities, and general information about our building.
If you click on either the words or on the floor plans images below of our Main Level and our Lower Level, each will open in a larger Adobe Acrobat format that can be printed or saved on your computer. The "You Are Here" annotated for each level is from the parking lot.

Accessibility
The property covers the entire block and there are entrances
on Jefferson (south), Carlton (west) and Madison (north). The
Sanctuary is accessible from Jefferson. A handicapped entrance
and elevator are located near the Son-Light Rotunda, the entrance
from the parking lot off Jefferson. First Presbyterian has a wheelchair
stationed at each of the four main entrances of our church. Whenever
these wheelchairs are used, please be sure to return them to the
proper location marked on each chair - Narthex, Rotunda, Parish
House, or Madison Street Entrance. If there are any problems with
the wheelchairs, please contact the church office.
Worship Assistive Devices Carts are available in both the Narthex
and the Son-Light Rotunda. These HELP carts provide a uniform
site for parishioners with special needs to choose from an array
of items that can enhance their worship experience. The items
on each cart include large print hymnals and Bibles, as well as
audio devices and individual pew cushions. Help yourself to items
on the cart, or ask an usher for assistance prior to each service.
Please remember to return items to the cart after each service
so that other parishioners may use them. The individually packaged
ear piece portion of the personal hearing devices are available
for $3.00 each and should not be returned (for hygienic reasons).
