Construction Update - January 25, 2000
The north and east masonry walls in the
Stewart Hall addition have been completed. The scaffolding
was covered and heated in order to finish these walls
in cold weather. The wall between Stewart Hall and the
multipurpose room will be completed within 3 weeks.
The steel for the roof trusts is scheduled to be delivered
late in February, and hopefully Stewart Hall can be
totally enclosed in early March.
The installation of the heating and cooling
ducts in lower Stewart Hall is almost completed. The
electrical and plumbing work is progressing, as is the
piping for the gas and the hot water heating system.
The ductwork in the attic of Stewart
Hall, for heating and cooling, will begin within 2
weeks. Also they are planing to install the ductwork
in the attic of the Sanctuary for air conditioning
before Easter. While the ducts will be in place by
summer the RTU's (roof top units), which will provide
the cool air, won't be operational until the end of
July or the beginning of August at the earliest.
