Construction Update
- July 27,
2000
It is encouraging every day to witness the progress
being made on our new addition. All the trades are in
the final stages of their work. The painting is almost
complete in lower Stewart Hall. The lighting fixtures
in upper Stewart Hall are installed, and the ceiling
is nearly complete. Next week painting will begin in
the multipurpose room, and the acoustical treatment
for the ceiling will follow. The link is in the final
stages of drywall and ready for painting in 10 days.
The walls that form the water retention areas are close
to completion. The curbs for the parking lot are in,
and the surrounding walkways have been poured. Construction
of the parking lot will begin the first week in August.
The roof is complete, and the gutters are almost finished.
While a lot of progress has been made, there is still
a quite a bit of work yet to be done.
I know everyone is anxious to see the new facility
and put it to use. While we are getting close to completion,
we are not quite ready to set a date for Celebration
Sunday. However, we hope to set a firm date very soon.
