Moses Hogan, who was the featured clinician at the Westminster Choir Retreat on September 7, 2002, joined us in worship on Sunday morning, September 8, 2002, conducting our choir in his arrangements of "This Little Light of Mine," "Good News, The Chariot's Comin'," "Steal Away," "Walk Together, Children," and "Abide with Me."

The other musical pieces enjoyed during the sevices were "O God Beyond All Praising," featuring Dave Beering (trumpet) and Jean Spyksma (organ); "Come Christians, Join To Sing" with Dave Beering (trumpet) and Jean Spyksma (organ); "What Does the Lord Require?" featuring the Westminster Choir, Dave Beering (trumpet), and Jean Spyksma (organ); "Lord's Prayer" by the choir, featuring Nancy Goodwin (Cantor, Soprano), and Jean Spyksma (piano); and "To God Be the Glory" with Dave Beering (trumpet) and Jean Spyksma (organ).

On Tuesday, February 11, 2003, Moses Hogan died at St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home, Harvey, Louisiana. He had suffered a massive stroke on October 14, 2002, and a brain tumor was found. The prayers and support received were a great source of strength for Moses and his family and friends. If you would like to send his mother, Gloria, a care card or note, please drop it in the offering plate or in the church office, and we’ll forward it. You may also send Care Cards from our website anytime - just click on care card, type in the information, and then click on send.
