We value relationships at First
Presbyterian. To help people share their lives and their faith with
other Christians we offer a variety of small group and fellowship
activities. These range from small groups with a trained facilitator to
larger fellowship groups. Here are a few of the possibilities. While
some of our small groups are at capacity, we always welcome the
formation of new groups. If you have an interest in starting or joining
a new group, please contact the church office.

Coffee House
College Fellowship (CHCF) - CHCF is a new ministry
program designed for the 18 - 25 year old group that was begun
during the summer of 2007 where graduating high school seniors
and all college-age folks are welcome. This is not limited to
First Pres; friends are invited too! CHCF did not end when
school started. We
are staying connected with those who have left our church community
to pursue their academics. We are still looking for prayer
partners for our college-age students. There are still
a number of students whom we have not been able to pair up with
a partner. If you are interested in being a prayer partner
and would like some additional information, please contact Sue
Massaro at smassaro@sbcglobal.net. A
Thanksgiving brunch is being planned for Saturday, November 24,
2007; and other events discussed to reconnect
over holiday breaks are Wear your Ugliest Holiday Sweater Christmas
Party, Open Mic night, After Christmas grab bag, and of course,
Coffee and Worship.
It is also an exciting time of year for CHCF as we welcome new
students into our community through the local colleges. The
CHCF leadership team is busy investigating how to reach out to
the local college students and offer them spiritual fellowship. We
are currently working on communications to the schools, events
to connect with the students, and postings on our facebook page.
Men's Luncheon - On the 3rd Tuesday
of the
month (September through May), First Pres men and their guests are
invited to the Men's Luncheon, which is held at Windsor Park in Carol
Stream. Speakers talk about topics of interest to the group.
Reservations can be made by calling the church office by the Friday
before the event. Cost is $10.00. Contact: Dick Mitchell (630-668-4707).
Mom's Group - This is an informal
gathering of babies through 5 year olds and their "adults" (moms,
dads, grandparents, and caregivers). We meet the 1st and 3rd
Friday each month in the 2 year old nursery from 10-11:30 a.m.

adults at First Pres. The group has sat together at
church events, attended a concert, had a Bingo night, game night,
Memorial Day picnic, and gone to the Field Museum. There is
something for everyone! Participants have enjoyed mission,
food and fellowship with old and new friends. This group has
a wide variety of events and the dates are varied. Watch the bulletin
