In our Presbyterian tradition, we’ve always valued the life of the mind. One way we can grow in our faith is by reading the Bible, but also by reading books that help us to better understand and live out our faith. Summer is a time when many of us spend more time reading. Why not read a few books this summer that will help you to grow your faith?

Here is a list of five books to renew and refresh this summer:
1. Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
A Christian classic by the author of the Narnia series
2. Everybody, Always: Becoming Love in a World Full of Setbacks and Difficult People by Bob Goff
Wonderful storytelling by a humble man of faith
3. The Second Mountain: The Quest for a Moral Life by David Brooks
An intriguing discourse on living a meaningful life by a New York Times columnist
4. The People’s Book: The Reformation and the Bible edited by Jennifer McNutt and David Lauber
Fascinating church history by recent and future First Pres guest speakers
5. Searching for Sunday by Rachel Held Evans
A memoir about life and faith by the late author

"When we moved here, our goal was to find another Presbyterian church that had similar mission and values; a church home that would positively impact our lives every day, not just on Sunday. We immediately felt right at home! "
