InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at College of DuPage is part of an international Christian movement on college campuses. The purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is to establish and advance at colleges and universities witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world.

COD, the U.S.'s largest community college with some 35,000 students, draws all the cultural diversity of DuPage County. The InterVarsity chapter enjoys and mirrors this diversity, reaching out especially to international students and recent immigrants (some countries recently represented are Liberia, China, Sudan, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Colombia). Two InterVarsity staff, Ruth Goring and Patty Bunge, provide support and counsel to several student leaders who make decisions about the group's direction and activities. The group's size varies between 25 and 50.

InterVarsity's core activity at COD is a Thursday-night meeting that includes worship, prayer, and a talk on a theme such as prayer, God's guidance, biblical justice, healthy relationships, creativity, care for the earth, how to share our faith with others. There are also prayer groups, Bible studies, and periodic outreaches such as concerts, socials, workdays at Rockford Urban Ministries, and prairie restoration at Jan Smith Park in Carol Stream. This year we organized a welcome dinner for new international students, along with COD's Latino Ethnic Awareness Association, International Student Organization, and Newman Club.
