The following are some suggestions for individual volunteers in this Mission. It will give you some ideas of our needs and how you may contribute and serve in this mission outreach as part of First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, IL.

1. Do you have a special gift or interest you might share with someone?

• enjoyment & knowledge of other cultures
• leading Bible studies
• baking
• hospitality

2. If you have a couple of free hours sometime during the week, here are some ways we

can use your help.

• anchor a weekly prayer group on campus
• provide snacks for weekly meetings (this could be done regularly or occasionally)
• mentor a student (meet once/week to talk & pray together)

3. How can your family or small group participate?

• covolunteer with students (prairie restoration or housing rehab)
• informally befriend a recent immigrant & give them some community (this might involve giving rides or helping them to find healthcare, or it might just be having dinner together occasionally)
• help with mailings (folding/stuffing/labeling)—fun to do as a group!

4. Special skills and/or resources we currently need include:

• tutor(s) for students who struggle with math

5. Other opportunities for volunteers include:

• inform us about First Presbyterian’s blood drives and other service opportunities so that students can participate
