Senior Home Sharing provides
family style homes for low income seniors. Its offices are located at
315 W. St Charles Road, in Lombard, Illinois.
Senior Home Sharing
assists older persons in living happy, secure lives by providing family-style
group homes in residential neighborhoods of Lombard, Downers Grove,
Naperville, and Elmhurst. By providing group homes, Senior Home Sharing
is able to fulfill its purpose of maintaining costs at a reasonable
level in order to serve lower income aging persons who wish to maintain
their independence. The program accepts persons age 62 and older who
are physically self sufficient; persons with canes, walkers, or visual
and mild cognitive impairment are eligible.
Each home has a live-in residence manager who prepares
all meals family style, does housekeeping and manages the household.
Residents rent a private room, furnishing it with their own belongings,
and have linen service, and laundry facilities. Some homes even have
their own vegetable garden! All are located in residential neighborhoods
with community activities and public senior transportation.
