Genesis Mission - August 10, 2010
All-Church Cleanup

On a hot, sweaty, August evening the Genesis middle schoolers, led by our fearless 8th grade Sunday school teacher Jerry Meyer, attacked weeds in the courtyard, wrestled with thousands of markers, sorting and pitching, and “took on” the dishwasher, assisting Mrs. Gagnon and Mrs. Shine washing the toys from the two-year old preschool room.  After intense work our middle schoolers were rewarded with pizza and Mr. Meyer’s famous gutter banana split.  Thank you, middle schoolers and adults, for all your hard  work on August 10, 2010!!!

Gutter

After all the hard work, everyone enjoyed sharing pizza in the air conditioned dining room!  Next it was time for Mr. Meyer's famous gutter banana split - a favorite treat to share among First Presbyterian middle schoolers who have worked hard on a hot summer day!

It really is made in a gutter - but it always begins with a clean section of gutter.  The efforts of Jerry Meyer and several middle schoolers are required to complete this project, and no ice cream or whipped cream goes to waste.

Our thanks to Mary Kinsey for the photos and information!
