All age groups were represented
at our Presbyterian Women's “Reali-tea” on
Sunday afternoon, April 27, 2008, with everyone in
the large crowd enjoying musical entertainment,
savory homemade tea party treats, and a fashion show.
The models purchased their outfits from local resale
shops, such as Wise Penny and The
Encore Shop, both in Wheaton, and the Salvation
Army Thrift Store. It was amazing to see what
they had been able to purchase for less than $25,
with many items less than $10. Elizabeth Lear
did a great job as MC, and food was plentiful and delicious.
Pastor Liz Walker said grace. The tea was donated
by PapaNicholas.
Musical entertainment was provided by Mrs. Laura
Ilhardt (harp), Julia Ilhardt (harp), and Peter Ilhardt,
Jr. (cello) of Glen Ellyn. The models were Janet
Cedarquist, Elaine Finley, Heidi Gagnon, Marlene Luhrsen,
Julie Fuller, Jennifer Johnson, Mary Kinsey, Angela
Stephenson, Emma Hayes, Tina Sayner, Debbie Queen,
Sara Kough, Spicer Lear, Morgan Gagnon, Cindy Heisler,
Alexandra Fuller, Gwyneth Johnson, Natalie Kinsey,
Julia Stephenson, Sydney Smith, Kelsey Sayner, Lindsey
Sayner, Jack Queen, and Emily Queen.
The Tea Committee did an outstanding job of planning
and organizing this event. Participants on this
committee were Elizabeth Lear, Debbie Queen, Kathryn
Gould, Jean Rosen, Kay Jenner, Jenny Gouldreault, Sally
Garrison, Angela Stephenson, Nancy Rechstiner, and
Julie Fuller.
