| The Morton Arboretum, located on Rt. 53 in Lisle, IL, is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to the planting and conservation of trees. Over 4,000 kinds of trees, shrubs, and other plants from around the world can be found on its 1,700 acres. The Arboretum was founded in 1922 by Morton Salt magnate Joy Morton. The Morton Arboretum includes 16 miles of hiking trails, 9 miles of roads, and 900 acres of natural areas, as well as the Visitor Center, a five-acre Children's Garden, a one-acre Maze Garden, and a paved walking trail around restored Meadow Lake. |

| After the trolley tour there was plenty of time for a snack and individual exploration of the Children's Garden. Everyone then gathered at a delightful tent pavilion reserved just for the group and enjoyed untold quantities of ice cream and chocolate sundaes. It was truly an Ice Cream Social with as much emphasis on the Social as on the goodies – a wonderful time with new and old friends from First Pres! |
