A very large crowd gathered at Stewart Hall following
the 11:00 a.m. worship service for a celebration of thanks to
honor the ministry and contributions of Pastor Caryle Aitken
Wilkie. Although Caryle was with First Presbyterian only
22 months as our Interim Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care,
she and her husband, Peter, had rapidly become part of our church
family.
A special thanks is due to our deacons, who not only arranged
the reception but also had only one hour to change Stewart Hall
from multiple classrooms into one large reception area, including
arranging all the tables, chairs, tablecloths, decorations, coffee,
punch, and food, and were smiling as everyone entered Stewart
Hall at noon. The food was provided by some of the deacons
as well as various members of the church. |

Caryle Aitken Wilkie (on the left), her
husband, Peter Wilkie, and their daughter, Meghan Wilkie, greeted
everyone at the reception. |
A large group of people waited patiently
in a line down Stewart Hall that extended through the link all
the way back to the Rotunda. They all wanted to greet and
thank Caryle Aitken Wilkie and her husband and daughter. | |
