CHCF began in the summer of 2007 as
a new ministry program designed for the 18 - 25
year old group, where
graduating high school seniors and all college-age folks are
welcome. This group is not limited to First Pres; friends are
invited too! We had a great time during the first summer
of the program, which was organized and led by Sue Massaro. This
is an ongoing progrm - check out our current CHCF Page.

What
Is CHCF?
CHCF is a time for fellowship. Our
hope was that it would be a great way for us to reach out to
all of our college-age folks and for them to keep in touch with
us. We
are also here to enrich our friendships, for maintaining a strong
faith can sometimes be tedious without close friends to confide
in. CHCF is also here for food; and no not just food to
fill our stomachs (even though that is a great thing), but for
spiritual nourishment that will help us live our lives with the
energy of God. |
|
| CHCF is a time for worship. First
and foremost we gather to enrich our faith in GOD, embracing
the fact that his son died for our sins, allowing us to live
forever in his kingdom. Music is very much a part of our
worship. |

CHCF is a secure place for open discussions, not to be judged
but to help find answers to questions. Diane Slocum was
our speaker on July 22, 2007. |
|
| Small group discussions are a significant part of our open
discussions. |

No, we didn't forget the coffee!
Guided meditation is sometimes offered as a way to quiet ourselves
and get reconnected with God. |

A Picnic in the Courtyard

We also enjoyed worshipping under the stars.

Our initial get together was on Wednesday, May
30, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. at church in Stewart Hall, our first opportunity
to talk and gather information. Meetings were generally
every other Sunday evening in Stewart Hall. On
June 24, 2007, Pastor Paul Kirbas led us in a discussion of the
Bible vs. Science. Diane Slocum, our church's former Youth
Ministry Coordinator who is now one of our candidates for Ministry
of Word and Sacrament, was our speaker on July 8, 2007. On
July 22, 2007, we had a picnic supper out in the Garden Courtyard
with an open discussion.
We enjoyed a movie night on August 5, and
music and fellowship on August 12, 2007. On August 19,
2007, we had a discussion with Pastor Jay Moses.
