Confirmation Retreat
April 13-15, 2007
Our WF youth attended a retreat at Dickson Valley Retreat
Center April 13-15, 2007. This retreat was mandatory for
our 2007 Confirmation Class. This weekend the focus was
on allowing the Confirmands to consider how to express their
beliefs. Throughout this weekend, as well as during Confirmation
classes, the teens were challenged to think about what they,
not their parents, believe and how those beliefs impact the way
they live.

The first activity of the weekend was “The Lion Game,” which
was an entertaining and lighthearted way to start the fun for
the weekend.
|
Once the large group was split into two smaller groups,
Confirmands were challenged to work as teams to try to build
the tallest tower of any group using only balloons, straws, and
tape. Each group had their own unique ideas. |

|
Clean up after the balloon tower exercise was not a quiet
process by any means. |
During some free time on Friday night, some youth and
adults enjoyed a bonfire prepared by the Dickson Valley staff. |
