Everyone had a great time at our annual Easter
Egg Hunt and Craft Party on Saturday, March
22, 2008. For
the first time in recent memory the First Presbyterian
annual Easter egg hunt had to be held indoors due to
the snowy weather. Of course Easter 2008, on
March 23, is the earliest Easter for any year in the
250 years between 1875 and 2124, matched only by Easter
in 1913 - 95 years ago.
Each of the children registering for the event was
requested to bring one dozen plastic eggs, filled with
surprises, to the church office by March 17. The
party was for children age 3 through grade 3 and their
adults. Each child who registered could hunt
for a dozen eggs to take home.
The party began in Stewart Hall with crafts and
face and hand painting, followed by cookies. Then everyone
gathered together while Shelley Iliff gave a short
inspirational talk, discussing
Easter, Allelulia, and Hallelujah. She then explained
the Easter egg hunt procedures. None of the
children had trouble finding the eggs in the Ministry
Center. |
