INAUGURAL RED CARPET FELLOWSHIP TRIP
SELLS OUT
Forty members of First Presbyterian Church and their guests
made the trek into Chicago on a snowy winter day on February
25, 2007, to attend the Inaugural RED CARPET Fellowship Trip
to the House
of Blues for their Gospel Brunch. Red Carpet is the
committee formerly known as “Hospitality.”
|
After a great warm up by the HOB staff, where Sue
Hervey and Robb Frank both won "fabulous prizes," they
went upstairs to enjoy an excellent Southern Sunday Brunch. From
cheese grits to fried chicken to fabulous desserts, they then
enjoyed a lively, loud, and boisterous concert from a local gospel
choir and band. Who said that Presbyterians were the “frozen
chosen?” Not after today!!!
Our excellent bus driver drove them back to Wheaton through
the snow storm while they sang songs and battled each other
for HOB prizes with a Gospel Music Trivia Contest.
From teenagers to octogenarians, they all had a
good time, got to meet some new faces, and enjoyed each others’ fellowship. |
