New Church Logo and Vision
Barbary Coast Dixieland Band
Connections Expo
|

Sunday, September 12, 2010, was a busy day at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton! During the 8:40 and 11:00 a.m. worship services, our new plasma screens were used for the first time; and Dr. Paul J. Kirbas revealed the new church logo and vision statement that had been under development by our Core Values and Vision Ministry Team for almost a year. More information about this was provided during the Faith Builders program on Wednesday, September 15, 2010.

Everyone also had the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful music provided by the Barbary Coast Dixieland Band during both services as well as during a concert in the Sanctuary at 3:00 p.m. that afternoon.
Sunday School classes began for the fall during the education hour; and a Connections Expo was held in the Ministry Center at that time, with many goodies available from the Genesis Bake Sale just outside the door. CDs were also available for purchase between the two worship services.

Dr. Paul Kirbas spoke briefly about the work done in developing the new vision statement and logo, using the new plasma screens to display them.

The new vision statement was on the website by 1:00 p.m. that same afternoon. In addition, the new logo was displayed in the upper left corner of all the church's web pages by the same time, only an hour after our second worship service concluded.

| The above photo provides a good view of the placement of the new plasma screens, which were first used during the worship services on September 12, 2010. |
| Everyone enjoyed the great music and enthusiasm of the Barbary Coast Dixieland Band, providing worship leadership during both our 8:40 and 11:00 a.m. worship services. Their mission is to Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord; and they certainly fulfilled their mission, providing an uplifting experience for both the musicians and the congregation. |

Our thanks to Gail DaVall, Bob Stevens, Kim Van Oss, and Phyllis Josephson
for the photos and to Tad Mallery for the Logo!
