The Deacons hosted their annual Fall luncheon for Seniors on September 30, 2010. Four marvelous soups were enjoyed by a crowd of 70. Gay Johnstone, a nurse at Central DuPage Hospital, gave a presentation on "Love Letters from the Civil War". Gay discovered a cache of letters written by her great grandfather, a Union soldier, and that prompted her search into family history. Everyone was fascinated as she read these personal and historic observations from the past.
