Kirkin' o' the Tartans Supper Club Dinner
February 6, 2010
 |
Our second annual Kirkin' o' the Tartans Supper Club Dinner on February 6, 2010, featured great food, fellowship, music, and dancing, with a Scottish flavor. Tom Boynton, on the left, and Peter Wilkie, on the right, did a teriffic jobs as our MC's. Stewart Hall looked festive decorated with Tartan banners and other Scottish items.

| As usual Phyllis Martillaro and her assistants, Sue Hervey, Sam Mallery, and Bob Young, prepared and served a great dinner. Everyone enjoyed the
roast beef, green beans, potatoes, and salad as well as the desserts provided by Cerena Fischer. |
|
After supper everyone went downstairs to our Ministry Center. Our supper club drawing was for the unique and very unofficial sign above, which reads "Scottish Parking Only - All Others Will Be Kilt." Peter Wilkie presented it to the winner.
Our entertainment was presented by the Thistle & Heather Highland Dancers of Chicagoland. This is a group of Scottish dancers, primarily girls, age 4 to adult, directed and taught by Nancy Strolle. The group that performed was composed of very talented girls age 6 through 14 who performed a number of different dances. They compete successfully at the local, national, and international level as well as perform around the metropolitan area.

Our thanks to Bill Saelinger, Ed Ballard, and Susan Miller for the photos.
