Vision and Mission - We believe that
God is glorified through music as it expresses
and interprets the scriptures in worship. The

SHINE
Is Returning This Spring!
The SHINE program was started in the summer
of 2007 as a Sunday School Opportunity during our Summer
Education Programs. Strive High in New
Experiences is
a new music program for children from second to fifth
grade. This program offers an opportunity for
children to strive in music and gives them an opportunity
to learn more about the talent that God has given them. The
class offered this spring is for 2nd - 5th graders
and will be led by David Lincoln.
Practices will be on Wednesdays from 5:00 - 5:50
p.m. from April 9 through May 28, with the children
providing worship leadership on Sunday, June 1, 2008.

Supporting
Groups -
The Westminster Choir is for individuals of
high school age through adult. Their repertoire includes
a broad spectrum of traditional choral literature, as
well as contemporary anthems and service music. The
choir's primary focus is to lead musically in worship
each Sunday, but they also seek to broaden their mission
by participating in other community musical events.
The current Westminster
Choir Schedule is available on this web site. Contact
David Lincoln for more information about the Westminster
Choir.
Children's Music at First Presbyterian Church
of Wheaton is also incorporated into our weekly LOGOS
educational program. Each Wednesday children in grades
K-8 are exposed to a variety of musical activities that
are used to lead worship. These include singing, liturgical
dance, tone chimes, percussion, handbells, guitar lessons,
puppetry, and musical drama. The objective of these
activities is for youth and children to develop responsibility
for, and practice in, worship and service to God and
their church.
The Celebration Ringers is our high school and
adult handbell choir. They practice and play in worship
monthly on an arranged basis. It is an adept musical
group and is open to all capable music readers, no previous
bell experience required. Contact David Lincoln
for more information about the Celebration Ringers.
Celebration Service Ensembles are
a great way to get involved in singing or playing an
instrument for a Celebration Service. Contact Jeff Leavitt for more information about becoming involved in the music for the Celebration Services.
Occasionally during worship, additional vocalists and
instrumentalists are used to enhance the worship experience,
either in a solo/ensemble arrangement or as part of
an orchestra.
DO YOU SING OR PLAY AN INSTRUMENT AND ARE NOT INVOLVED
IN THE MUSIC MINISTRY? -- Contact David Lincoln or Jeff Leavitt
using the Church
Staff page to get involved in worship at First Presbyterian.
