Upcoming Worship Schedule and
Service Location Changes
On May 4 and May 11, the 7:30 a.m. services will be
held in the Chapel.
Sunday, May 18, is Youth Sunday. High
school students will provide worship leadership at
all three services, including presenting all of the
sermons. The 7:30 a.m. service will be in the
Sanctuary, and the 8:40 and 11:00 a.m. services will
be in the Ministry Center. On Youth Sunday there
is a scheduled
speaker for all the parents of all our
youth during the education hour. We
are also having classes for the Middle Schoolers. The
High School youth have a breakfast planned for them
in between services. There are no Sunday School
classes for the children through Grade 5 on May 18;
their final gathering is on Sunday, May 11. There
will be childcare for babies through 4 year olds
on Youth Sunday.
On Sunday, May 25, worship services will be at 7:30,
8:40, and 11:00 a.m., but no education hour classes
are scheduled due to the Memorial Day weekend.
Our summer worship schedule will begin on Sunday,
June 1,
and continue through Sunday, August 31. Our
Sunday morning schedule will offer two worship services,
at 8:40
a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Information

As shown in our church's Vision
Statement, we are called to be the body of
Christ striving to celebrate God’s grace and
love, to be transformed by Christ’s love, and
to extend the love of the Holy Spirit to all.
Shalom Vesper Services are
normally held in the Chapel at 5:00 p.m. on the third
Sunday each month.
Our next Taizé Prayer
Service will be held on Friday, April
25, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rotunda here at First
Presbyterian Church.
Our worship schedule includes a variety of worship styles.
Following our Mission Vision Study it became very apparent that
we have a congregation that is united in their Christian faith
but diverse in their preference for expressing that faith.
The
Heritage Service – For those who treasure
an experience rich in heritage and heartfelt contemplation.
Liturgy steeped in tradition, and selections from the hymnal
with lush organ and piano accompaniment, highlight this 45-minute Sanctuary
service. A classic approach to worship. Sundays – 7:30 a.m.
The
Tapestry Service - A fluid fabric of worship
woven from the unique strands of memorable hymns and liturgy,
and the new classics in Christian music. Westminster Choir and
a meld of ensembles and instrumentation thread their way through
the loom of the Presbyterian Order of Worship. Tradition with
a twist. Sundays in the Sanctuary at
8:40 and 11:00 a.m.
The
Celebration Service – A joyous outpouring of
Christian faith through modern themes. Art, drama, music, prayer,
praise: a cornucopia of ways to contemplate, convey, and celebrate
our beliefs. Normally in the Ministry Center the second
Sunday of each month at 11:00 a.m. This
service is in lieu of the Tapestry Service that week.
The Celebration Service Planning Team is a newly formed lay
committee which seeks to glorify God through worship that is
participatory and multi-sensory, relevant, and engaging to all
generations. If you have ideas, energy, and the desire to participate
in meaningful contemporary worship planning, please join us on
the first and third Tuesday evenings every month in LL107 at
7:00 p.m. For more information contact Jo Albert
